Necho Neural Labs ("Necho," "we," "our," or "us") operates the Necho platform — a real-time AI-powered sign language interpreter supporting ASL and 40+ regional dialects. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data transparently and responsibly.

By using the Necho platform, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to provide our service. This includes:

• Camera / video feed: Processed entirely in your browser using your device's GPU. Video frames are analyzed locally and are never transmitted to our servers or stored in any form.
• Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. These are stored locally in your browser's sessionStorage and are not transmitted to a remote database in the current version of the platform.
• Usage preferences: Theme (light/dark), language selection, and accessibility settings are stored in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device.
• Blog content: Posts you create through the Blog Writing Tool are stored in your browser's localStorage. This content is local to your device and is not uploaded to any server.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To operate and improve the sign language interpretation service
• To remember your accessibility and display preferences across sessions
• To authenticate your account and maintain session state
• To display blog content you have authored

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not build advertising profiles.

4. Third-Party Services

Necho integrates the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Google Translate: When you select a language other than English, page content is processed by Google Translate. Google may collect usage data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
• Unsplash: Some images displayed on this platform are served from Unsplash's CDN. Unsplash may log standard web access data.
• Google Fonts: Font files are loaded from Google's CDN. Google may log your IP address when serving these assets.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser localStorage and sessionStorage — not traditional server-side cookies — to store your preferences. The only cookies set on this platform are:

• googtrans: Set temporarily by Google Translate when you switch languages. Cleared when you return to English.

You can clear all local data at any time through your browser's developer tools (Application → Local Storage / Session Storage).

6. Camera Access

The Necho Interpreter requires access to your device's camera or webcam. This access is:

• Granted only after you explicitly permit it via your browser's permission prompt
• Used solely for local, on-device gesture recognition and translation
• Never recorded, streamed, or stored on any Necho server
• Immediately released when you close the Interpreter or revoke camera permission

You may revoke camera access at any time through your browser's site settings.

7. Data Retention

Since all user data is stored locally in your browser:

• Your data persists until you clear your browser's storage or uninstall the browser
• We do not retain any copies of your data on Necho servers
• Closing an incognito/private window erases all session data automatically

8. Children's Privacy

The Necho platform is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete that information.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access any personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the platform after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
